Reporting invasive species sightings is important in the fight against their spread as this data is used to track spread, which informs management and prevention activities.

Are you reporting any of the following species?
We request that you report the following invasive species to us directly as they are of elevated concern in New Brunswick or have not yet been found in the province. Upon receiving your report, we will follow up with you and determine the appropriate next steps.
Asian Carp
Asian Longhorned Beetle
Emerald Ash Borer (in areas other than Fredericton, Edmundston, Oromocto, or Moncton)
Eurasian Water-Milfoil (outside the Saint John River or tributaries)
Invasive Phragmites (outside of the Moncton/Sackville area)
Marbled Crayfish
Wild Pigs
If so, email report@nbinvasives.ca and please include the following details in your report: your name, location of sighting, details and identifying features, and photos/videos
How to report all other invasive species
Reporting all other invasive species through iNaturalist helps our staff and partner organizations across the province to track their spread, which is crucial to our efforts to monitor and manage invasive species. Please note that our response to reported invasive species may vary depending on factors such as species impact and available resources.
