Making plans for your garden this summer? We have some exciting news for you!

Since releasing our “Grow Me Instead” guide for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in 2023, we have had many requests for guidance on finding native plant seeds. To address this need, we have been collaborating with To & From Gift Co. to develop a native wildflower seed mix specifically for New Brunswick.

This mix has been thoughtfully curated with the support of plant experts from across the province to bring you the benefits of a garden that is both beautiful and that protects our natural areas. For example, we included Swamp Milkweed because it's a vital food source for Endangered Monarch Butterflies, who sometimes mistakenly lay their eggs on the related invasive Dog-strangling Vine. Unfortunately, Dog-strangling Vine does not act as a food source for Monarch larvae. The five plants included in this packet of approximately 50 seeds are: New England Aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae), Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis), Golden Alexander (Zizia aurea) & Common Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum).

The seed packets can be pre-ordered until May 1st, 2025. You can pre-order your packet today by following this link (or visiting www.toandfrom.ca).

Thank you to Kristen from To & From Gift Co. for bringing this dream to life!
